Batik Wax-Resist
Molten wax drawn freehand onto hemp cloth with a copper pen, resisting the indigo dye beneath it.
The wax is kept at a precise temperature over a small fire — too hot and it spreads past the line, too cool and it cracks unevenly.
After dyeing, the cloth is boiled to release the wax, revealing the pattern in pale hemp against deep indigo.
