Backstrap Weaving
A loom with no frame — one end tied to a post, the other to the weaver's own body, tension held by leaning back.
Because the weaver's body is part of the loom, the width and tension of the cloth is entirely personal — no two lengths are quite identical.
The technique travels easily: the entire loom can be rolled up and carried between villages.
